Geeter began his training in 1968 under Richard Lee and was one of the best fighters at the Chinese YMCA. You might also say many of his techniques were road-tested.
A police officer, Geeter knew what tough was all about, as he defended the streets of San Francisco. He is now retired from the San Francisco Police Department. Geeter, along with two other officers, started the San Francisco Police Department Karate Team, which he is still very proud of. He competed with them in many of the Police Olympics around the world.
His first Sensei was Richard Lee but when Mr. Lee moved to Paris in 1974 he became a student of Sensei Kim’s.
“I love the Sei Unchin kata,” says Geeter, “as it is functional and suits my body style. Arakaki Unanku is more sophisticated but it is the same as Wanquan: strong, Goju-ryu style, strong stances and body dynamics, powerful movements, and quick inside stepping.”
He is presently a 5th dan Renshi and trains at the Washinkan Dojo in Daly City, California.
