She started Ju Jitsu training in San Francisco at the age of 14 years with Professor Duke Moore, and karate training with Hanshi Richard Kim until his passing in November 2001.

Lenore was one of the stalwarts at the Chinese YMCA dojo.

For 13 years she taught Ju Jitsu to adults and children for her father, Urbano S. Tejo, at his dojo in San Francisco and Sacramento and has been an assistant karate instructor for Martial Arts Way for the last 22 years.

Lenore was a member of the women’s team kata from 1975-1992 and her individual kata performances were nothing short of beautiful. Lenore was most certainly one of Sensei Kim’s pride and joys.

She is now an assistant instructor with her husband Frank in Sacramento, California, where she is still teaching on a weekly basis.
