He began training with Sensei at the Chinese YMCA in 1966 and became known as a quality martial artist.

In the 1970s he was a strong kata competitor and competed under Sensei Kim’s name in Toronto, Buenes Aires, Germany and Japan.

A mechanical engineer by trade, he believes strongly that karate has many benefits like fitness, release of stress, and self defense.

Continuing his training at the Washinkan Dojo of Kyoshi Ken Shockey, Lok presently holds the rank of 6th dan Renshi.
