Greg Mellor began his study of judo at the age of 10 under long-time Judoka John Mills in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

In 1967, Mellor joined Benny Allen’s Eastern Karate and began training with Benny Allen and Frank Wishart. He received his shodan from Sensei Kim in 1972.

In 1973 he attended one of Sensei Kim’s seminars and a tournament in Hamilton and has since then been a student of Sensei Kim’s, traveling the world with him as part of Sensei’s entourage.

Considered by most Canadians to be the finest example of technique Canada has ever produced, Greg won more then his share of competitions in kata and in weapons kata.

He has been a full time instructor since the early 1970s and has produced some fine quality students. Mellor continues to teach the art that he learned from Sensei Kim in Hamilton, Canada.

Greg Mellor’s senior students are Paul Benton, Paul Armstrong, Peter Lemmen, Robin Lemmen, Walter Baumann, Brian Cyr and Paul Altobelli.
