One of the absolute toughest and nicest guys to come out of the Chinese YMCA was Chuck Siani.

One of San Francisco’s finest, Siani was a police officer along with Ed Geeter, and was one of the best and toughest fighters in the dojo. To the best of our knowledge, Siani never lost a karate match. He was always the man to beat.

Bald head, big mustache and strong body, and always a serious attitude... no one wanted to fight Siani... it was just not fun.

He was also the one who took impeccable notes and even typed them up and shared them with many of us. Siani’s notes have contributed enormously to this book.

His lovely wife, Rosamund, was the total opposite to Chuck as her flawless form was the envy of all.
