Urbano Tejo started his training at 1819 Market Street in San Francisco, in 1961 under Professor Duke Moore and it was here he brought his three children with him to the learn the Martial Arts: Arturo, Fernando and Lenore. It was Lenore that went on to become a prize student of Sensei Kim’s, with precision kata and passion for the Martial Arts. She continues this long standing family tradition today.
Urbano was one of the very few who was ever graded by Sensei Kim in Ju Jitsu. He opened up two dojos – one in San Francisco and another in Sacramento, at which Lenore taught, as well. Both schools were members of the Bu Toku Kai organization.
